Full course description

This online course will introduce students to specialized knowledge needed to understand Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) and will address the core Animal Assisted Intervention (AAI) competencies. Students will gain ethological knowledge about dogs, animal psychology, and methods of animal training. Students will explore the social and culture factors relevant to AAT and implications of human-animal interactions while they discuss how to maximize the potential for safe interactions between clients and animals in the world that we serve.

Refund Policy

In general, there is no refund on or after the day the offering (course, webinar, event, or other like offerings that have a defined start date) begins. For the self-paced, online offerings, there is no refund 24 hours after registration. The exception for a refund is if the offering is cancelled due to low enrollment. In this case, a full refund is given.

Bundled students who withdraw before the first course begins (first day of class), will receive full bundle refund (for all four courses). On or after the first day of the first class there will be no refund.

Dr. Harrison is the School of Health Professions Inter-professional Clinic Coordinator at Concordia University Wisconsin. Her research interests focus on inter-professional education, animal assisted interventions, and health/wellness for individuals with intellectual/ developmental disability.
