CUW’s Hesed program reflects a genuine desire to put God’s love into action through uplifting and empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they navigate the challenges of transitioning into adulthood. We are committed to walking alongside our students to provide support and just-right challenges as they journey toward independence and self-sufficiency.
Course: CEHS 013 | Digital Citizenship 1
Navigating the digital world safely and responsibly is an essential skill for all students. This course is focused on online safety lessons, helping students build key skills needed to be a positive, engaged, and secure digital citizen:
· Building foundational digital literacy: Providing personalized, step-by-step instruction on how to use devices, apps, and the internet for learning and communicating.
· Teaching online safety and privacy: Clearly and directly explaining concepts such as personal information, online strangers, and the importance of strong passwords.
· Fostering positive online interactions: Focusing on respectful communication and online etiquette.
· Promoting critical thinking skills: Encouraging students to question and evaluate online information, especially when it comes to identifying misinformation or potential scams.
· Encouraging open communication: Creating a safe space where students feel comfortable asking for help if they encounter anything online that makes them feel uncomfortable or confused.
