This course is the application portion of Money Matters course series. Students will understand the concept and importance of money and different ways to earn money, differentiate between needs and wants and making smart spending choices, understand financial terminology and services and deciding what products work best, and develop a personal budget and understand the different components. Students will have the opportunity apply these skills in off campus experiences.

Instructor BIO:

Erik Halling graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in theology and European History. After graduation Erik spent 17 years working in banking and finance with a number of financial institutions working primarily with consumer lending while completing graduate work at UW in bank management and lending. After leaving the banking industry Erik joined CUW and worked in various areas, serving the Advancement Dept, Accelerated Education, Extended Campus Operations, Instructional Design, and the Registrar’s Office. Erik has been working with the IDD student program over the past year and is looking forward to growing the program under CUW.
