Course: CEC 0325 | Congregational Health Ministries: Mentoring | Course 2 (of 2)
“To equip His people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” – Ephesians 4:12
This three-month mentoring course is for registered nurses and other healthcare professionals who have completed an introductory course in parish nursing or congregational health ministries. Through guided mentorship, participants will gain hands-on, practical experience within a church setting:
- Unit 1: Introducing the concept of congregational health ministries to clergy, church staff, and the congregation
- Unit 2: Conducting a health assessment by gathering and analyzing data to identify the congregation's health needs
- Unit 3: Building and strengthening a team of volunteers to support the ministry’s initiative
- Unit 4: Collaborating with at least two volunteers to plan and implement two targeted health-related activities within the congregation
This course empowers participants to actively integrate faith and health while fostering a culture of wellness and service within their church communities.

- Online Synchronous: Participants are required to log in and participate in live online sessions at specified meeting days/times. Offering has fixed Start and End dates and regular assignment due dates.

Dr. Carol A. Lueders Bolwerk, RN
Dr. Lueders Bolwerk, award-winning nursing teacher, has taught nursing at Concordia University Wisconsin for more than 35 years and has served as Director of Parish Nurse Program for most of that tenure. She teaches Christian Caregiving to traditional undergraduate and second degree accelerated nursing students and chairs the annual parish nurse conference. She has practiced in critical care, trauma, recovery, and operating room, and continues her nursing practice in a variety of positions.
